Blue Hyssop (hyssop officinalis): Perennial 1-3 feet high at maturity. Highly medicinal with strong anti-viral properties. Blue hyssop is one of the best plants for honeybees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Old time beekeepers rubbed their hives down with hyssop to get the bees to stay. Beautiful small blue flowers.
Here's a lovely ode to Hyssop by Gail Faith Edwards. It was her thoughts about this herb that first brought it into our garden.
Anise Hyssop (agastache foeniculum): Wonderfully fragrant easy to grow perennial with beautiful spikes of upright purple flowers. Anise hyssop smells just like anise, it makes a great sun tea, and is much loved by pollinators. 2-4 feet at maturity.
