I always thought it was strange that people would grow raspberries in the garden when they were so common in the wild. Once I saw cultivated raspberries I understood why they were grown. Bigger size, yields, more colors and outstanding flavor are all reasons to grow cultivated raspberries.
Jewel Black Cap Raspberry- Huge delicious fruits in early July
Bristol- Comes from Bristol, NY. It is another outstanding black cap selection.
Ohio Treasure- New black raspberry release that yields a summer and a fall crop.
Yellow- Yellow raspberries with exceptional flavor. Makes summer and fall crops.
Purple- A cross between black and red raspberry. Very vigorous. Ripens fruit around Aug 1st in NY.
Prelude- Delicious red raspberry, produces early summer crop (hence the name), also makes a nice fall crop.
