Figs
Figs
Figs are easy to root from cuttings. We grow figs in our greenhouse and in containers on the patio. Outdoor fig plants are brought into a basement or garage for the winter as no light is needed for the leafless dormant stems. Figs are a joy to grow in warm or cold climates.
All our varieties do not require pollination
Varieties:
Immigrant’s Gift- We named this unknown variety which was a gift from an Italian immigrant. This is by far our most productive and cold hardy variety. Fruits are purple, abundant, small, and very tasty. Formerly called LPF (Little Purple Fig). Immigrant’s gift has greatly outperformed every other fig we have tried.
White Marseilles- Large beige fruit with pink flesh, one of our most productive and largest fruited varieties
LSU Purple- Dark purple figs with good flavor
Kadota- Sweet greenish yellow figs
Red Israel- Great flavored red fig
Qalat al Madiq- Syrian fig, outstanding flavor, honey colored
Spadafora (unknown) - Small green yellow fruit that hangs off long stems, very good
Cuttings ship throughout the winter
