Varieties

Black Velvet- Small dark purple berries with excellent flavor. Plants are thorny and disease resistant

Jeanne- Vigorous bush, very large delicious red berries

Captivator- There are at least two gooseberries in the nursery trade with this name. One is ok, the one we are growing is our favorite gooseberry. The flavor is supreme, plants are thornless and vigorous

St Jahn’s Praire- Awesome disease resistant plant, large dark red berries

Amish- Thorny, vigorous, abundant crops of good fruit, reddish berries

Poorman- Probably the heaviest producer we have trialed. Berries are small, purplish, and average flavor
